about

The producers wanted to use the music of Charles Mingus, but the cost of the rights proved to be an obstacle. Having worked with the editor before on another project, they came to me. I absorbed everything I could from an extensive Mingus collection and began to write. The results are nothing even close to the genius of Charles Mingus, but I'm very proud of what the boys and I delivered. I had cut "Lazy High Fly" a couple years earlier but had never finished it and I thought it was a perfect fit for this project.
